“Photographing the Kites of Scotland & Texas” Craig Meurer
This program will include Red Kites of Scotland and White-tailed Kites of Texas to highlight bird of prey photography concepts and challenges. Raptor and bird photography techniques and lighting issues will be covered as part of the program. Craig will show photos taken on a recent trip to Scotland to see the Argaty kites located north of Edinburgh. Additionally, he will show photos taken on the Texas coast of white-tailed kites to compare and contrast the experience and techniques. There will be time to discuss equipment used, shooting techniques, and other related topics. Information about bird photo post-processing will also be covered. Additional illustrative photos of birds of prey in Texas and Colorado will be shown as well, including aplomado falcons, ferruginous hawks, prairie falcons, and more.
